Would it not be beneficial if everyone could communicate with one another without fighting or resorting to violence? The planet would have been the ideal place to be, in my opinion, and the astronauts would definitely be reconsidering their decision to travel into space. Would it not have been wonderful if no one had to hurt the other person’s feelings or say hurtful things to them? The countless conflicts that have sprung out in various regions of the world are a sad testament to how little people value humanity. It is very evident that the root of our never-ending issues is our relationships. If only everyone could get along, there wouldn’t have been any violence, loss of life, or other negative outcomes.
We continue to read of countries where conflict is the norm and peace is unheard of. These situations are often caused by tribalism or a leader who is too self-centered to see that his or her time in power is long overdue. How cruel is it that someone would choose to be obscenely wealthy above doing good for others? We often forget that no one can predict the future and that maybe, just maybe, the same incident may happen to us or someone we know the following day. It actually doesn’t cost anything to share what little you have with the person who has nothing.
To resolve our problems, such as war, we must first do a thorough self-evaluation of our interpersonal connections. Love is a very important element in creating healthy relationships, so greet your new neighbor in a friendly manner, help the elderly or those who are blind cross the street, shake their hand properly when they ask for directions, and smile at anyone who enters your office looking for a job. You can also volunteer in your community by picking up trash or doing other community service projects.
When you see someone at a gathering or when someone is in need of your assistance, don’t let tribe, religion, or skin color rule your decisions. Learn about others regardless of their origins; a person is defined more by their character and personality than by their place of origin. Don’t you believe the world would change if you showed off your greatest qualities by showing people love?
